The whole process (iterations, experiments, decision making, etc.) behind the booklets/stories can be found in Weeks 5-8 (posts) on this blog [menu: iterate & position(continued)].

urban-diagramming-storytelling

5 booklets, 5 walks, 5 stories.

Using diagramming as a graphic communication tool to generate stories through the analysis of photographs captured in my urban surroundings.

Walking, observing, analysing, making stories.

Specifications
Black and white
Pages of each booklet: 20
Size: 12*21cm
Binding: loop stitched
Paper: favini crush (corn), 120gsm
Cover: tracing paper, 120gsm

Booklets’ covers
The tracing paper with the printed dots on them, lets the underneath page be seen, connecting the lines. Each dot represents a spot/point in the walk (e.g. if the story uses 6 photographs captured in the walk, then the amount of dots in the cover will be 6).

Titles
Intentionally, there is not a title in each story. This leaves the imagination/interpretation of the reader open.

Black & White
Constraining myself to explore something/send a message, etc. using only the black colour, leaves the imagination more open. Keeping it neutral does not add extra meaning, letting the actual elements of the diagrams form the story.
